The GoalDiggers Group provides mentoring, motivational speaking, career planning and coaching as well as scholarships to qualified individuals who demonstrate values which support The Goaldiggers Group’s mission. We host monthly mixers in Orlando where young urban professionals can keep abreast of the issues that surround us all while networking and sharing our individual wealth of KNOWLEDGE in an effort to educate and lead. Not all black women want to be the “babymommas of ballers” or even work the traditional 9 to 5. Unfortunately, either of the two can become reality when there is a lack of goals and mentors. The GOALdiggers Group matches our mentors (or what we prefer to call ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS) with young women 18 to 25 who are struggling with goal setting and goal achievement. Interested mentees are able to meet with their accountability partners one on one and at various social events. The accountability partners are all women, like myself, who started out with the odds set against us and have excelled academically and in our careers. As accountability partners The GOALdiggers provide support, guidance and the reality check many young women need to set a goal, stick to it and BEAT THE ODDS. The GOALdiggers group is also available to speak to middle and high school students about the doors advanced education can open for them. The mission of THE GOALDIGGERS GROUP is to develop and/or strengthen minority youth’s interest in going to college and pursuing advanced degrees. It is our belief that our communities need more doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, engineers, nurse practitioner’s etc. It is simply not enough to allow our youth to only aspire to be singers, urban “models” and video chicks, basketball players, rappers, etc. in order to live “the good life.” It is also imperative that our youth understand that obtaining a bachelor’s degree is usually not enough these days (there are exceptions). THE GOALDIGGERS GROUP sows the seed of advancement and provides resources that give interested young people (particulary young ladies) the tools necessary to enter advanced education and the workforce, and successfully compete.
